There’s something about late summer in Northern Virginia that makes senior portraits feel a little more magical.
The warm evening light, fields still full of color, wildflowers moving in the breeze, and that feeling that summer is slowly beginning to turn into fall...it was the perfect backdrop for this senior session at Short Hill Springs in Hillsboro, Virginia.
For this session, we leaned into everything I love about natural, timeless senior photography: beautiful light, movement, flowers, and portraits that feel like her rather than overly posed.
A Dreamy Late-Summer Senior Session in Hillsboro
Short Hill Springs is such a beautiful setting for senior photos in Northern Virginia. The property offers a mix of open fields, wildflowers, mature trees, and soft natural scenery that photographs beautifully throughout the day.
It was especially gorgeous during this late-summer session.
The wildflowers added the prettiest pop of color, while the warm light created that soft, golden glow I love so much in senior portraits. We moved through the field, incorporated the flowers, and let the session naturally unfold instead of trying to make every image feel perfectly posed.
The result was a gallery that feels feminine, joyful, and completely at home in the Virginia countryside.
