For as long as I can remember, I’ve always loved capturing little pieces of life. Whether it was friends laughing, sunsets after long days, or just the everyday moments that make life beautiful - I always had a camera nearby.

Photography was my way of seeing the world a little softer, a little slower.

But as life picked up and college began, I slowly stopped carrying my camera with me. It wasn’t intentional; life just got busy. And before I knew it, the thing that used to bring me so much joy had quietly slipped into the background.

Fast forward a few years, I saw that my own photographer was hosting something called a, “content day” for other photographers. It was meant to be a day of creativity, networking, and rekindling that spark behind the lens. I remember thinking, “Maybe this is what I need.” So, I signed up ... nervous, excited, and honestly, a little unsure of what to expect.

The event took place at Sterling Hills Farm in Leesburg, Virginia, the most charming, picturesque venue you could imagine. The open fields rolled gently toward the horizon, the air smelled like fresh hay, and the sweetest cows roamed freely, clearly adored by their owners. Every detail felt intentional ... peaceful, genuine, and full of heart.

That day, something shifted. As I lifted my camera for the first time in a long while, it felt like coming home. The light, the laughter, the candid joy of everyone around me... it all reminded me why I fell in love with photography in the first place. It wasn’t just about taking beautiful photos, it was about feeling something. The connection, the story, the stillness between moments. That’s what drew me in years ago, and that’s what I rediscovered at that farm.

Since then, I’ve been incredibly thankful that I listened to that small voice nudging me to go. If you’ve ever found yourself missing a passion or wondering if it’s too late to return to something you once loved, this is your sign to just start again.

Even one small step - signing up for a workshop, buying fresh batteries, or dusting off your camera can lead to something beautiful. Sometimes, the spark is still there… it just needs a little space to breathe again.
